Making new connections and exchanging ideas at the Networking Event Series Wind Energy 2021 Part 2

On Wednesday, Sep. 22nd 2021, we held the Networking Event Series Wind Energy 2021 PART 2 - LIVE NETWORKING WITH SPECIAL GUEST. We were a small but motivated group of 20 people representing four different universities and ten innovative companies. Some impressions are shown below:

The first point in the programme was a presentation from our special guests Jan Dabrowski and Sudheesh Sureshkumar, founders of the company XVentum in Germany. They introduced their new software, which helps wind developers to have access to early stage financing, by providing them a management software framework. They assist wind project developers to estimate the costs of wind energy as well as create a fully interface-ready technical Due Diligence Data room that ensures bankability. After a lively Q&A session, we moved onto the one-minute presentations, where all the participants got a chance to introduce themselves and their activities. The absolute highlight of the event was the “speed meet-ups” in which the participants swapped random conversation partners every three minutes, getting the chance to meeting people they wouldn’t have otherwise talked to! The final activity before coffee and snacks was a presentation from Sarah Barber about the WeDoWind project being run by The Swiss Wind Energy R&D Network, a centralised ecosystem for accelerating innovation and learning through inclusive knowledge sharing based around real wind energy industry challenges, as illustrated below.

We received very positive feedback from the participants, with all of them enjoying the event and most of them wishing it had been longer! Here are some quotes from participants:

Events like this are always a good place to meet passionate researchers and entrepreneurs. We exchanged a lot of promising ideas and insights, laying foundations for future collaborations.
Excellent networking opportunity.
The network event gave me the chance to meet new people and have interesting exchange of ideas. Is always important to look at different perspectives of the same problem, in order to have a better understanding of the role that my research plays within in.
I enjoyed the networking meeting. The presentation by the keynote speakers was interesting but I especially liked the networking exercises as I got to know more people and got a feeling for what activities are ongoing in Switzerland related to the wind industry.

We look forward to seeing you again in May (date tbd)! Join The Swiss Wind Energy R&D Network for free here:
