According to the 10-year expansion plan 2029, Brazil has ambitious plans to expand offshore wind energy. In the Brazilian Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap 2020, EPE estimates that a potential of 700 GW exists. However, there are a number of challenges related to implementing this amount of wind energy. One of the largest challenges relates to the technical training of staff. This course takes place online, four hours a day from Monday, March 20th, 2023 until Friday, March 24th, 2023. It covers the topics shown in the graphic below. Each day has a different focus. You can sign up for individual days or the whole course. We recommend attending the whole course in order to get an overview of all the important topics! Each day is split into two different topic areas, and each topic area is split into a one-hour lecture and a one-hour workshop including exercises or discussions. The final part on the Friday includes a panel discussion about the challenges of implementing wind energy in Brazil.

The Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) has shown to be a promising candidate for faster high-fidelity simulations. This workshop welcomes researchers from both industry and academia, interested or active in the application of the LBM in wind energy.
